Write a press release for an event that you will be participating in. This can be for a show, recital, concert, record or video release. (You may have a great idea that isn’t one of these so just ask since what you’d like to do will probably be great!)
A press release, news release, media release, press statement or video release is a written or recorded communication directed at members of the news media for the purpose of announcing something ostensibly newsworthy. Typically, they are mailed, faxed, or e-mailed to assignment editors and journalists at newspapers, magazines, radio stations, online media, television stations or television networks.
Editors of newspapers and journals use new releases as they decide what stories or events they will report. So do television and radio directors. Editors receive competition for time and space, so they are apt to print better written submittals. These are less work on their part.

Once you have written your press release, post it to our course blog. Make sure to select the appropriate category for your post which is Press Release. Make sure to hit publish and your Press Release will be on the course site. All you need to do now is go to the post, copy the link and paste it into an email for me to grade.
